Dr. Gary Rogers is a senior HPC administrator at NICS and is a manager for the Systems Operations group in the eXtreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) project. Gary has more than 17 years of experience related to parallel programming and managing large supercomputers, including Cray XT5/XC30 systems, as well as smaller HP, Dell, and SGI machines. His background includes virtualization, automation, accounting, cloud computing, infrastructure services, security, and algorithm development. Gary received his BS in Computer Science from the University of the South (Sewanee) in 2003, then moved to Knoxville where he completed his MS in Computer Science in 2005 and PhD in 2011 under the guidance of Dr. Mike Langston. His doctoral research included the development and application of graph-theoretical algorithms to biological data. |
