| Lonnie Crosby is the Scientific Computing Group Leader for NICS. He has over 18 years of experience in high-performance computing (HPC) in roles including researcher, scientific computing application support, and research facilitation. Lonnie has a Ph.D. in Chemistry and completed a postdoctoral appointment at Iowa State University, where he contributed to the NWChem computational chemistry package. He has also contributed to national cyberinfrastructure projects, including the deployment of the first academic Petaflop supercomputer, “Kraken,” and the eXtreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE). Through activities at the national level and locally at UTK, he has worked closely with researchers to help them better utilize HPC resources for their work by providing needed training, consulting, and research facilitation. | |||||||||
