Collaborate with the National Institute for Computational Sciences (NICS)
The National Institute for Computational Sciences (NICS) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, routinely collaborates with members of the broader university community, including university administration, college deans, department chairs, faculty, staff, and students. NICS is committed to working with the university community to advance computing research, facilitate access to computational resources, and provide workforce development opportunities and training.
Research:
NICS staff have expertise in areas including system administration, programing, high-performance computing, computational research, workforce development, and training. NICS is interested in collaborating on research projects that could benefit from our experience in these areas. We would be happy to discuss any potential research collaboration. Please contact Dr. Tabitha Samuel, Interim NICS Director or Dr. Lonnie Crosby, Group Leader for Scientific Computing if you would like to discuss a potential collaboration or research opportunity.
Computational Resources:
NICS staff are experts at utilizing high-performance computing resources including those at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and national resources such as those in the NSF funded ACCESS program. We would be happy to discuss your computing needs and provide consulting to point you to available local and national resources. Please contact Dr. Lonnie Crosby, Group Leader for Scientific Computing if you would like to discuss your computing needs.
Industry Partnerships:
NICS has experience working with industry partners to meet their computational and research needs. Please contact Dr. Tabitha Samuel, Interim NICS Director if you would like to discuss a potential industrial partnership with NICS.
Faculty and Staff:
NICS works extensively with university faculty and staff in a number of different activities including workforce development, collaborative research, research facilitation, and consulting. Some of our collaborative activities may already be covered within the context of one or more of our ongoing projects. In other cases, sponsored projects (i.e., grants) or university funding (university, college, or department) may be utilized to provide services in support of educational or research activities. Please contact Dr. Tabitha Samuel, Interim NICS Director or Dr. Lonnie Crosby, Group Leader for Scientific Computing if you would like to discuss your educational or research needs and available support.
