MARVEL

The Mars Advanced Research Virtual Environment Laboratory (MARVEL) is an almost decade-long collaboration between the Mars Advanced Research Institute, Mars, Inc., and NICS. Created in 2017,  MARVEL helps Mars advance its research in critical areas such as health and nutrition, food safety, and processing optimization. Since its inception, MARVEL has hosted impactful research for food production and safety, helped scientists from the Mars Advanced Research Institute (MARI) simulate new candy production techniques, found effective coatings for pet kibble, and efficiently predicted levels of fungal toxins in maize harvested in different locations, among other projects.
