Tabitha K. Samuel is the Group Lead for the HPC Operations group as well as the Deputy Director at the National Institute for Computational Sciences. The group manages all aspects of filesystems, cluster management, networking, security, infrastructure, and systems programming for the center. Her responsibilities also include contributing to current and future planning for the center, proposal writing and submission, budget management, and project management. She also holds leadership and contributory roles in the eXtreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) project, where she serves as the Deputy Director of the XSEDE Cyberinfrastructure Integration group, the XSEDE Service Provider coordinator, and the Deputy Manager for the Data Transfer Services team.
Tabitha’s research interests are in the areas of high-performance computing system data analysis, and user experience and engagement. Ms. Samuel earned her Masters in Computer Science degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where her research focus was parallel computing for data mining applications. In her free time, Tabitha loves to go on magnificent adventures around the globe, kayak, and play tabletop RPGs. |
